I will def. have to check out the cover next time I'm at the bookstore.

I am home sick from work this week and finished up my the other book I had been working on. Now I am just starting Chapter 4 of Dream Girl.

Ummm...LOVE IT so far!!!

And can I just say that I SO WISH that there was a real Farmhouse School. I would have gone there as a kid and I would teach there now! :)

Abbey - That is so awesome! I hope you love it as much as I did. My one sad little drawback to you ordering it on your Kindle is that you're going to miss out on the gorgeous cover. I think Dream Girl's cover artwork falls into my top 5 favorite ever. It's just so ethereal and...well pink ;) What's not to love?

Sometimes I think that we are the same person. ; ) I have always wanted to go to boarding school, too!

I heart YA books...I still aspire to write one myself one day...

Ummm...I am SUPER excited about the Adriana Trigiani YA Book! I just love her. I could read Big Stone Gap on a daily basis and never get bored.

Would you say the YA books you recommend read like adult books? In your opinion, what makes them classified as YA?

I've enjoyed a lot of amateur attempts at YA in a high school setting over at Fictionpress.com. My attempt into reading published YA in a high school setting failed miserably and has kinda turned me off from that genre.

From the summaries above, "Viola in Reel Life" sounds pretty interesting and so does the "Luxe" series (who can resist Victorian love stories?).

Thanks!

Hi Emily,

I've actually been meaning to read that book forever. I'll have to see if I can pick it up soon. Did you read American Wife yet? It was such a great piece of storytelling. I just loved it! So I'm sure I'll enjoy Prep as well.

I've read several books that you've recommended in the past (Notably Graceling which I LOVED), so I'll definitely check these out.

If you like boarding school books, you should read Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld. It's not really YA, but it's about a girl at boarding school and it's one of my favorite books. I actually did go to boarding school, so it brought back a lot of memories. It's a pretty true telling of the boarding school experience.
