Plus, they can* be box trained. My pug isn't but I ahve some friends whose pugs won't go to the bathroom outside if it is wet, raining, snowing or with snow on the ground. Here in Iowa that means they use theri "litter boxes" about 48 weeks out of th year. So, you know, not ideal, but possible. Plus, they are a good medium sized dog and so so so so good with kids. Having to walk your dog 20 blocks to the nearest grassy space so it can go to the bathroom at six in the morning is a nightmare. Kelly's mom's neighbor has a shih tzu that they just let run free in the neighborhood, hoping it won't come back. It is such a sweet dog, and it's so ugly it's cute.
